More Than 4,000 Freshmen Gather at Feng Chia University: A Cross-Disciplinary Journey to "Meet the Best" Version of Themselves

Feng Chia University (FCU) held its 2026 FCU Freshman Orientation Camp from September 1 to 3, welcoming more than 4,000 incoming freshmen. Nearly 650 senior students served as camp counselors, guiding new students throughout the three-day program. For the first time, the university also organized a Department Costume Parade, in which 62 senior students representing all 31 academic departments took the stage in costumes reflecting their departments' spirit, paired with an energetic dance performance — welcoming freshmen into a new chapter of university life, with the hope that every student will "Meet the Best" version of themselves at Feng Chia.

Chin-Chen Chang, He Yiwu Chair Professor at Feng Chia University, has been formally elected as a 2026 Member of the European Academy of Engineering (EAE) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to information security, cryptography, and artificial intelligence. The selection process for EAE membership is highly rigorous, involving peer review by leading scholars worldwide. Its distinguished membership includes Nobel Prize, Fields Medal, and Turing Award laureates, underscoring the Academy’s prestige and influence in the global academic community.

Feng Chia University Wins Jury Gold and Bronze Awards in the Application Category at the 26th Macronix Golden Silicon Awards

The 26th Macronix Golden Silicon Awards – Semiconductor Design and Application Contest, often regarded as the “Oscars” of Taiwan’s electronics and electrical engineering industry, held its awards ceremony on July 25. Competing against 274 teams and nearly 1,000 faculty members and students from 33 universities and colleges nationwide, two student teams from Feng Chia University distinguished themselves by winning the Jury Gold Award and Jury Bronze Award in the Application Category.
