FCU Chinese Language Center Students Win Top Two Places in International Chinese Speech Contest

The Chinese Language Center of Feng Chia University recently received exciting news. Vietnamese student Hong-Yen Nguyen and German student Robin Schier achieved outstanding results at the 2026 International Student Chinese Speech Contest, hosted by National Chin-Yi University of Technology on May 20. Competing in the A2 Basic-Level Self-Selected Topic category, where contestants were required to deliver a three-minute speech in Chinese, the two students demonstrated impressive fluency and confidence, earning first and second place, respectively.

To strengthen local governments’ disaster response and shelter management capabilities, the Tanzi District Office of Taichung City organized its 2026 Disaster Coordination Center Training and Annual Shelter Relief Station Exercise on May 12. The program invited Po-Tsang Chen, Associate Professor of the Department of Water Resources Engineering and Conservation at Feng Chia University, to serve as instructor. Moving beyond traditional lecture-based training, the course incorporated immersive teaching tools and hands-on exercises to enhance the practical skills of frontline disaster management personnel.

What? and How?” on May 5, with support from the University’s 5G Faculty Professional Development Community. The event featured Li-Chun Wang, Dean of the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), as the keynote speaker.

FCU Incubated Startup Fengsheng Digital Selected Among Taiwan’s Top 100 Startups, Secures NT$3 Million in Government Support

On April 29, the National Development Council (NDC) announced the list of the top 100 teams selected for the “Startup Blossom – Startup Alliance Competition.” Among 2,805 participating teams from across Taiwan, Fengsheng Digital Development Co., Ltd., led by Chen Chen-Hung, an alumnus of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Feng Chia University, successfully advanced into the top 100 and was awarded NT$3 million in startup funding support.

Amid the global wave of artificial intelligence, Feng Chia University is not only actively implementing smart innovation on campus but is also committed to supporting industrial transformation in central Taiwan. On April 15, the Taiwan Artificial Intelligence School (AIA) hosted the 2026 Central Taiwan Industrial AI Transformation and Practical Applications Forum at the Lecture Theater of Virtuosi Hall. Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang attended the industry-academia panel discussion in person. As AIA’s designated certification partner in central Taiwan, Feng Chia University was granted special access for its faculty and students to participate, enabling them to engage directly with industry leaders and gain firsthand insights into emerging trends.

Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage Integrates AI and ESG Feng Chia University Marks Its 21st Year of Public-Service Technology Support

The 2026 Dajia Mazu Pilgrimage, one of Taiwan’s most significant religious events, will officially begin at 10:05 p.m. on April 17. For the 21st consecutive year, the Feng Chia University team is demonstrating its commitment to University Social Responsibility (USR) by sponsoring the Dajia Mazu App and the Mazu Pilgrimage Real-Time Satellite Tracking Service. This year, the team has further integrated artificial intelligence and ESG principles, introducing a popular Digital Pilgrimage Passport, along with AI-powered driver fatigue monitoring and automated carbon-emissions inventory systems, to create a safer and more sustainable pilgrimage experience throughout the nine-day, eight-night event.

Feng Chia University Partners with Nikkan Co. to Unveil a New Integrated Technology for Energy Recovery from Cooked Food Waste, with Commercialization Possible in as Little as Nine Months

In response to the increasing challenges of managing cooked food waste in urban environments, and in alignment with Taiwan’s net‑zero transition and circular economy policy goals, Feng Chia University and Nikkan Development Co., Ltd. officially signed an industry–academia collaboration agreement and a doctoral excellence scholarship program on February 12. The partnership unveiled a new integrated technology for cooked food waste energy recovery, featuring three key advantages: high efficiency, low pollution, and rapid deployment. This collaboration not only symbolizes cross‑institutional and cross‑industry resource integration, but also applies Feng Chia University’s internationally recognized, APEC‑level hydrogen energy technologies to the local transformation of urban cooked food waste into biomass energy. The solution provides local governments with a ready‑to‑deploy pathway that can be operational in as little as nine months, offering a practical and scalable approach to urban food waste energy recovery
